Step into the magic of winter in Quex Gardens with a Seasonal Wreath Making Experience, blending history, craft, and the beauty of nature.

The day begins with coffee and an introduction to the gardens in the restored Winter Garden glasshouse, gathered by the woodstove. Guests will then head outdoors to explore the gardens, gathering inspiration from the many evergreens and seasonal foliage that flourish in the grounds and have long featured in winter celebrations.

Drawing inspiration from the ancient practice of wreath making – first used practised during the Roman festival of Saturnalia to ward off bad spirits at the darkest time of the year. Participants will collect fresh foliage before returning to the warmth of the Winter Garden.

A vegetarian lunch, prepared by  Angela’s of Margate, will be served using homegrown produce from the gardens. After lunch, Head Gardener, Sue Harris and the garden team will guide participants through wreath-making techniques — from classic traditional styles to completely plastic-free designs. With expert support, every guest will leave with a unique wreath to take home.

Includes: Coffee on arrival, guided foliage walk, vegetarian lunch by Angela’s of Margate, wreath-making workshop, and all materials provided
