Volunteers join us in a range of different ways. Some come to regularly commit their time and expertise and some come as part of corporate volunteering schemes. We will work with you to find the right tasks that fulfil your needs, build your skills and make a significant contribution to the work of our organisation. We work with organisations that want to find opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, particularly in the gardens.

“In the gardens, volunteer opportunities are as accessible as possible, regardless of age, ability or skill. Our inclusive team-approach works towards integrating people with supported learning disabilities as well as college students seeking meaningful work experience”

Sue Harris, Head Gardener

Current Opportunities

We are currently open to applications from people interested in garden volunteering. If you have skills such as gardening, glazing, or basic maintenance, we would love to hear from you.

We are also looking for more community organisations to work with. Our gardens are a safe space for adults with physical or learning disabilities.

If you are a local business looking to give your team a chance to give back to the community and have some fresh air and fun in the process, please get in touch.

At the moment, all volunteers must be aged over 18.

Come along to Quex Gardens to participate in the @rspb Big Garden Bird Watch!

The gardens will be open for a donation entry on Friday 24th - Sunday 26th January, 11 - 3pm.

Bring your binoculars and see how many beautiful birds you can spot in our 10 acres of gardens. We will provide spotter sheets to help you identify the birds. Stop along the path for a warming cup of tea or coffee in exchange for a small donation.

When you have finished, log on to the RSPB website and submit your results (this can also be done by post).

No booking required, just come along!

This week our Sunshine Project participants got to see their glazed pots.
They created these beautiful pieces during a recent clay workshop.
We're all blown away by their talent!
