Volunteers join us in a range of different ways. Some come to regularly commit their time and expertise and some come as part of corporate volunteering schemes. We will work with you to find the right tasks that fulfil your needs, build your skills and make a significant contribution to the work of our organisation. We work with organisations that want to find opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, particularly in the gardens.

Current Opportunities
We are currently open to applications from people interested in garden volunteering. If you have skills such as gardening, glazing, or basic maintenance, we would love to hear from you.
We are also looking for more community organisations to work with. Our gardens are a safe space for adults with physical or learning disabilities.
If you are a local business looking to give your team a chance to give back to the community and have some fresh air and fun in the process, please get in touch.
At the moment, all volunteers must be aged over 18.

Providing the lunch at our Productive Greenhouse workshop this weekend, you`ll break bread with your fellow gardeners and the Quex Gardens team as you learn how to grow tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers- from picking out the best varieties, preparing compost mixes to tips on germination you will leave with all the knowledge you need to get your garden blooming and start your very own homegrown soups in no time!

As part of the Sunshine project members of the garden team recently took part in a clay workshop led by Jayne Wright @ThanetTilesOfJoy and our resident artist, Julia Ellen-Lancaster.
Starting with identical balls of clay each person created an individual tile inspired by things which brought them joy. The result is a set of tiles which are different from each other. Participants discovered ways to sculpt and mould their designs with inspiration from the garden as well as personal flights of fancy!
